This public statement has been distributed by NLESD informing parents of District created learning resources. This is in keeping with the District messaging on March 19. In conversations with NLESD, the expectation continues to be that teachers make contact with their students on a weekly basis and to provide assistance when possible. At present, there is no requirement for K-9 teachers to assess student material or create learning packages. The NLTA has continued to advocate for the greatest flexibility for teachers and the opportunity for them to exercise their professional judgement.
